The RED Shed Candles was founded in 2016 in the rural-side town of Pukekohe by Founder Jo Shortt. Her love and innate passion for candles and homewares blossomed after raising her four children. Inspiration struck from Aotearoa's beautiful coastal line and she knew her products would embody values of tranquility, peace, and sustainability. Fast forward to now, Jo and her team make thousands of candles every year - RED Shed products stocked all over the country.

Zero Waste

Much of a candle's appeal is its beautifully made packaging, but it can cause excessive amounts of wastage heading straight to landfill. Here at The RED Shed, our packaging is plastic-free, reusable, and multi-purposed (they make for a great storage or jewelry bag).

Sustainable

Unlike paraffin which is a byproduct of crude oil that creates and releases toxic benzene and toluene chemicals, causing indoor pollution, our candles are 100% soy - making it a much more eco-friendly option for you and your family.

Reusable

No need to buy another whole candle and throw out a perfectly good jar, we'll refill your candle for you once it's empty with any fragrance of your choice. Good for the planet and for your pocket!
